That's the whole model. Building costs us nothing to give away because you bring your own AI keys and pay the AI company directly — so the harness and the content engine are free forever, and your code is yours from the first commit. The $100 a month starts when your software is live and working for you: customer email on your own domain, live chat with a shared inbox, content publishing, Google Ads, and reporting that shows you who's converting. And if you'd rather not drive the build yourself, John runs the harness on your project with you — same specs, same tests, same verification — scoped and quoted after a real conversation.

How much does CodeMySpec cost?
Building is free forever. Running your software — customer email on your domain, live chat, content publishing, ads, and conversion reporting — is $100 a month per user. If you want it built with you, John quotes the work after a conversation, with a $500 minimum.
Is the free tier a trial?
No. The build harness and the content engine are free forever, with no credit card and nothing that expires. It isn't a stripped-down demo — it's the same harness John uses to run CodeMySpec itself.
Am I paying for the AI on top of this?
You bring your own AI keys and pay the AI company directly for what you use. CodeMySpec never marks up model tokens or proxies your requests — your keys, your bill, your code.
What does "per user" mean?
A user is a person on your account doing the work — answering chat, sending email, publishing content. If that's just you, Operate & Grow costs $100 a month, total. Add seats only when more hands are actually in the tools.
What does the $500 minimum on Built with you cover?
It's a floor, not a package. You bring what you're trying to run, John scopes it in a real conversation and quotes a real number. The work is done the same way as self-serve — specs, tests, verification — and you own everything when it ships.
What happens if I stop paying?
The hosted services stop — email, chat, publishing, reporting. Your software, your code, and your content stay yours. There's no lock-in to unwind; the $100 was never rent on your own app.
Can I use it for internal tools instead of software I sell?
Yes. Build and Operate work the same whether the software faces customers or your own crew. Plenty of operators need a tool that fits their workflow, not a product to sell — that counts.
